Behind DropBucket is Marie S. Berggreen and Heiða G. Nolsøe, who both have a bachelor in Design and Innovation from Denmarks Technical University, where the idea of creating DropBucket was born as well.
The DropBucket project was submitted in january 2012, while also being submittet to various different innovation competitions. This proved to be the turning point with DropBucket as a concept. DropBucket received 2nd place at the innovation price in Aarhus In may 2013. At this arrangement a man passed our booth – which became the turning point for our environmental trash handling solution. His wife, who works at “Natur og Miljø” in Aarhus municipality, saw the promising possibilities from using DropBucket, which let to Aarhus municipality – in collaberation with DTU – sponsored our first production that was tested on Roskilde Festival 2013 with great success.
In march 2014 P/F Royndin became an investor. This investment has made it possible for us to have DropBucket running full-time from our office at Vesterbrogade. In 2014 more than 5000 DropBuckets was used at festivals and events throughout the country. The vision is to expand our new innovative way of handling trash so that we will see DropBucket being used all over Europe. In 2015 DropBucket won the worlds most prestigious design award Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best.
